Nigerian female wrestlers delivered a phenomenal performance at the ongoing 13th African Games, clinching a remarkable six gold medals across various weight categories on Sunday night.

Leading the charge was Blessing Oborodudu, who dominated her opponent Blandine Nyeh Ngiri of Cameroon with a score of 14-4.

Odunayo Adekuroye continued the winning streak, replicating Oborodudu’s success with a decisive pinfall victory over Zineb Hassoune of Morocco.

Mercy Genesis, a Commonwealth and African champion, showcased her skills by defeating her Egyptian opponent, Mohamed Nada, with a commanding 7-0 win.

Ogunsanya Christiana, making her African Games debut in the 53kg category, displayed exceptional strength and technique, overpowering Nogona Bakayoko of Cote D’Ivoire 11-0.

The celebration reached new heights when Hannah Reuben secured another gold medal for Nigeria, defeating Amy Youin of Ivory Coast.

This impressive display by Nigeria’s female wrestlers highlights their exceptional talent and dedication. Their victories contribute significantly to the nation’s medal count at the African Games.
