The Federal Government has mandated the transfer of the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) headquarters from Abuja to Lagos. A memorandum dated January 15, addressed to FAAN’s Managing Director, Olubumi Kuku, conveyed the directive from the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development. The memo instructed FAAN to assess and communicate the implications of the relocation to the management.
This decision follows a similar move announced earlier by the Federal Government, relocating key departments of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from Abuja to its Lagos branch. The CBN cited the need to optimize the use of other bank premises and address overcrowding challenges at its Abuja Head Office.
